Budapest as tourists see it

I have guided my American friends in Budapest. I tried to watch the city as a tourist.

Picnic / Piknik / Pique-nique

A year has passed, and we organized a picnic again this year alongside the coast of the Danube, in Leányfalu. Some came by car or bus, Tamas had a kayak. Some of us have gone walking paths. After 10 km we have come to Leányfalu.
Ein Jahr hat abgelaufen, und wir organisierten ein Piknik wieder, in diesem Jahr neben am Ufer der Donau, in Leányfalu. Einige kamen mit dem Auto oder Bus,Tamas mit Kajak. Einige von uns sind in Wandernwege gegangen. Nach 10 km haben wir auch nach Leányfalu gekommen.
Une année s'est écoulée, et nous avons organisé un pique-nique, cette année encore le long des côtes du Danube, dans Leányfalu. Certains sont venus en voiture ou en bus, Tom avec kayak. Certains d'entre nous sont allés sentiers pédestres. Après 10 km, nous sommes arrivés à Leányfalu.



Kati and Jozsi was already there at 9 clock. They have cooked our lunch, and waiting for us with cold drinks.

Lici ist schon nicht eine neue Tourist. Sie ist schon mehr als 1 Jahre alt, und war mehrmals mit uns.
Lici n'est pas déjà un touriste nouvelle. Il ya déjà plus de 1 ans, et fut plusieurs fois avec nous.

The official First Day of Summer in Iceland isn’t until after two weeks but at the Icelandic Meteorological Office the winter ended on March 31. The 2009-2010 winter season was unusually warm—the temperature was 1.6°C above average in Reykjavík. In Stykkishólmur, west Iceland, the temperature this winter was 1.4°C warmer than average, in Akureyri in the north and Berufjördur in the east it was 0.9°C above the average winter temperature and in the Westman Islands in the south 1.1°C above average. The air pressure was unusually high—8.4 hPa above average in Reykjavík. The air pressure has only been higher on three occasions, in 1823, 1968 and 1969. In south Iceland the winter was rather dry—precipitation measured 215 millimeters in Reykjavík. The winter hasn’t been drier since 1977 when the precipitation measured 111 millimeters. In north Iceland the precipitation was different each month. The overall precipitation measured 234 millimeters in Akureyri this winter, which is 20 percent above average. Akureyri saw record snow layer depth in December. The snow melted in January and then it snowed again in February, while most of March was snow free. Akureyri had 57 days of complete snow cover, 16 fewer than during the average winter. There was very little snow in Reykjavík. The capital only had 13 days of complete snow cover, 31 fewer days than during an average winter.

Around eight million Hungarians are now at 6.00 clock to choose 386 deputies for a new parliament. Public opinion poll expect a strong shift to the right and a change of government. In those individual constituencies where no candidate wins more than 50 percent of the vote, it comes in two weeks (April 25) to a runoff. For the right-conservative Federation of Young Democrats (Fidesz) below its top candidate Viktor Orban is emerging in the polls is a clear victory. Orban was already prime minister from 1998 to 2002. The ruling Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) will have to go after eight years in power expected in the opposition. Die rechtsextreme Partei Jobbik (Die Besseren) dürfte erstmals den Einzug ins Parlament schaffen. Die Wahllokale schließen um 19.00 Uhr.

Anniversaire / Geburtstag / Birthday

Nous avons organisé le premier anniversaire de Matt. Le papa travaille à l'étranger, mais il a vu les images et être sur le week-end rencontrer personnellement les uns avec les autres à Bruxelles.



Wir behielt den erste Jahrestag des Matt. Der Vati arbeitet im Ausland, aber er hat die Bilder gesehen und , am Wochenende werden persönlich treffen miteinander in Brüssel

We held the first anniversary of Matt. The dad works abroad, but he has seen the pictures and be on the weekend personally meet with each other in Brussels.

Budapest heute /today/ aujourd'hui

Der Luftverschmutzung war so hoch. Heute kann man viele Dinge in Budapest machen, doch nehmen Luft nicht. Ein Alarm zu machen, es ist nicht zu tun.



Le smog était si élevé. Aujourd'hui, vous pouvez faire beaucoup de choses à Budapest, mais l'air ne tient pas. Faire une alarme, il n'est pas fait.

For my readers, I wish good things in the new year in order to survive the difficulties in the following year in good health and safety.
